about

This tune almost did not get recorded, but due to finishing up the other tracks early we decided to give it a shot. I played it a few times for everyone and Dan and Alex came up with beautiful parts. The only overdub is my high vocal in the Chorus.

lyrics

We watch lovers stare
in crowded park
and dream away.
Her tongue becomes faint
still we wander to pass the day
Baby is on the way
shouldn't we slow down,
it's not too late.
She steals the crowd
and I beg too loud
we said we'd never say
It's over now.
The park becomes bare
and those lovers hide away.
I think of the gin
that will warm me
while you play dead.
This old love affair
thought we'd stay young
by holding our breath.
She steals the crowd
but I beg too loud
we said we'd never say
It's over now.
She fakes her falls
but I'll always call
we said we'd never say,
It's over now.
We watch lovers stare
they seem to gaze on
and hope for the best.
I whisper come back
still she moves on
and seems content.
